The core of Recovery Planning and Implementation (RPI), the Recovery Plan, meets the three statutory requirements of recovery planning set in the Endangered Species Act:
- Site-specific actions needed for recovery;
- Objective, measurable recovery criteria; and
- Estimated costs and time for recovery.
This portion of the RPI is effectively a streamlined version of current recovery plans. It will undergo the same public review and comment as current plans, and will require similar levels of public feedback for revisions.
Once the new Recovery Plan for the eastern indigo snake is complete and has been reviewed by the public, it will live here, in parallel with the dynamic Species Status Assessment and the Recovery Implementation Schedule.
